Brooklyn DanceSport Club (BDSC) is Americas premiere DanceSport Performance Company. Focusing on the intricacies of Latin American and Ballroom dance technique, executive directors Eugene Katsevman and Maria Manusova pave the way for the most compelling voices of the next generation. The creations of their choreographic works are ones that only the most well trained and talented performers can execute. The diverse repertoire varies from classical to fusion, with the most impressive nature of the show derived from the pure quality of the movement. The innovative and abstract formations complimented by charisma, musicality, beauty and style make their performance a forever lasting memory.
About Eugene & Maria:
Eugene and Maria started dancing together on August 1st 1993. Both originally from Kiev, Ukraine, they found each other in New York, where they lived in the same neighborhood of Brooklyn. By 1995 Eugene and Maria were the USA National Youth Latin Champions, and in 1998 they won the UK Rising Star Latin. In 1997 they entered the adult division where they became USA National Amateur Latin Champions and held onto the title for the following 11 years. In 2008 they turned professional and immediately broke into the final of the British Open Championship at Blackpool in 2009.
After winning the Blackpool Team Match for the second year in a row, the famous couple announced their retirement from competitive dancing in May of 2010. They then opened the doors to their brand new dance academy Brooklyn DanceSport Club the following January in 2011. Still remaining champions in the eyes of DanceSport enthusiast’s worldwide, Eugene Katsevman and Maria Manusova are now laying out the foundation for a brighter more accessible DanceSport community. Offering a space where kids and adults alike can discover their love for ballroom dancing.
